First blog entry ever!
So I decided that I'm going to try blogging. I doubt it will be everyday, but from time to time. I want to use this to tell you about myself, family, and my awesome clients. Also share fitness information and just have fun with it. So let's get started with myself.
My story is that I'm a 41 year old husband and father of 1 daughter and 1 son. I have have been a personal trainer for 2 years now after completing changing careers after 16 years in an unrelated industry. I have not always been into fitness and working out. In fact in my 20's I was really overweight and unhealthy.
I started the healthy part of my life shortly after that, mostly by starting a job that was alot more physical and slowly over time changed my eating habits and added in exercise. It has not always been easy, I have always battled with myself with body image and I went from one extreme (above picture) to the other and been obsessed with the scale (below picture).
Eventually I realized that I wanted to feel better about myself and be a positive role model to my daughter. So I decided to get some help. From that point on I think I have a good balance in my life for fitness, do I still have bad days of course I do.
So after I left my former career I decided to go back to school and personal training is what I wanted to pursue. I enrolled at National Personal Training Institute and the rest is history. I absolutely love what I do now and look forward to work everyday.
Not only am I a cerifed personal trainer, I hold many certifications such as Osteoblast™ for bone density building, SAQ, and foam rolling to name a few, but I am a Postpartum specialist. I am currently the only certified male MuTu Pro™ in the world. Yes I know it's a little strange that a man is a Postpartum specialist, but I just kinda fell into it am so honored to be able to help women empower themselves to exercise like pre-baby. I was one of the very first MuTu Pros to be certified by Wendy Powell the creator of MuTu System®.
So that pretty much brings you up to speed on the cliff notes version. I look forward to sharing with you from time to time and hope that you will hope you enjoy it.
PS here is a photo of my beautiful family. I could have never made this life and career change without the love and support of my beautiful wife. I will always be grateful for everything she has done to support me.
